CA Equi-TOD Explorer
The Affordable Transit Oriented Development (CA Equi-TOD) composite scoring framework evaluates California station areas using three factors: built environment typology (0.5–2 points), affordability (0–2 points), and minority presence (+1 point).
Scores range from 0.5 to 6, then normalize to a 0–100 scale for comparability. This holistic metric highlights where transit-oriented development aligns with equity goals—integrating mobility, affordability, and racialized vulnerability—while revealing priority areas for policy intervention.
The statewide map visualizes equitable performance across regions, guiding planners and housing professionals toward targeted, inclusive transit investments. For more information, contact ahoura.zandiatashbar@sjsu.edu.
